History
Slovakia was founded on October 28, 1918. The first people of present Slovakia were called Slavic Slovaks around the 6th century. In 907 the Slovaks fell under Hungarian control until 1918. In 1918 the Slovaks joined the Czech lands and formed Czechoslovakia. Shortly after on January 1, 1993 Czechoslovakia was split, Czech Republic and Slovakia were both formed.
