CAPITALISM

What is capitalism?

an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state

And last but not least…

So what does this mean for the US during WWI?

With having the incentive of money, companies and factories were motivated to produce weaponry and other necessities of war in mass amounts. This resulted in a boom in America’s economy with jobs being created in factories and a production and purchase of artillery at rapid rates.
