Knowing that we are the people of God inspires us to serve god and do his will. This is because the title "people of God" reminds us as Christians that we are chose by God to serve him and do his will.

It also is a calling for us to realize that we are individually created and loved by God for a purpose. Many people acknowledge this and act to serve God and carry out the mission given to them by their creator.
