Chignon:


-make a slightly diagonal section from top of head, to behind both ears. (pin this section forward)


- put two bobby pins through a hair binder to use as a grip


-pull remaining back section of hair into pony tail above occipital bone.

with your palm facing upward and your thumb against their scalp.


-wrap the binder around the pony tail twice, inserting one pin into one side, and criss crossing the second to the other side.


-pin the length of the pony tail one inch above the secured base, curling the end under like a pin curl


-secure both sides with bobby pins


-style the remaining front sections as desired

French Twist:


-section away the top of in a horseshoe,

making a "V" shape at the back


-section the back of the head into thirds


-back comb the middle section (from the bottom of the horse show section, to the nape) until you have built a strong cushion


-smooth the right back section over the middle backcombed section


-pin the midlengths of the smooth side into the backcombed section using criss crossing pins to build a "spine"


-roll the left back section around your fingers (so the ends are inside the vertical curl) wrap this curled piece over the middle and right section and pin into opposite side of "spine"


-style front sections as desired
