The Lantern in the Snow story is a story where Marcellin's prayer and ties to the Virgin Mary are shown. It starts when Marcellin and a Marist Brother take a call to a sick person. On their back, a snowstorm occurs and the two men are lost and hanging to a tree. As night falls, it could be the end of both of them so Marcellin tells the Brother something. Both of them pray the Memorary, after a few moments of praying, a faint light appears in the distance. Marcellin and the Brother head towards the light, only to see that it is a farmer holding a lantern headed to his stable from his farmhouse. Marcellin and the Brother were saved that night, the farmer, miraculously, had went out that night instead of taking a indoor hallway to his stable. This is why Marist is deeply connecting to Mary because of Marcellin's faith to her.
