Monroe Doctrine
America
Monroe Doctrine-
A. The Monroe Doctrine stated that further efforts by European nations to colonize land or interfere with states in North or South America would be viewed as acts of aggression, requiring U.S. intervention. This stopped imperialism from spreading and expanding.
B. The United States was able to conquer most of North America, which led to them being a dominant and prominent imperial power during the 19th century (and later).
C. The United States established a military government over the Philippines during the 19th century when they captured Manila, the capital.
