Coast of sea at night
One of the earliest works of a Feodosiya's collection of the artist also belongs to the student's period when Aivazovsky was engaged in the Petersburg Academy of Arts. The picture is painted in 1837. Obviously influence of M. N. Vorobyyov – the teacher and the mentor of future the greatest painter is still noticeable: the sea isn't so natural as in the subsequent works, the sky, is rather specially frightening, than realistic and details of a picture from a branch and the boat on the near plan to the sailing courts which are shaken in different directions at the horizon on distant – would approach the canvas executed in a phantasmagoria genre more.Ayvazovsky put for himself a task to transfer futility of human existence (in the center of a picture the person giving hands towards the sea) as clamped from two parties by water and air elements. In spite of the story that the plot of a picture is developed at night, the moon not so highly rose above the horizon, and the beacon still (or already) doesn't burn.
