Where and when he was born:

Marcellin Champagnat was born on May 20th, 1789. This was an unfortunate time to be a Catholic because the French Revolution was going on. The French Revolution was a time where Government and Church were at war with each other. Nuns, Priests , and Catholics in general where being executed. But this obstacle did not stop Marcellin from believing in the Catholic Faith.
