One day Marcellin was asked to come over to consult a child who was very sick and dying. Marcellin came and talked to the boy about how he was going to have a peaceful pass and so on. The boy, John Montogne, was very intrigued by this information but he told Marcellin that he didn't know of what he was talking about. Appalled, Marcellin decided to teach him about the Catholic faith. The boy was very grateful for this. Unfortunately, he passed some time later. After discovering that some people don't know about the Catholic faith, he decided to create the Marist brothers.
