Commentary Essay

Throughout 'To Kill a Mockingbird' there's a hand full of references to religion. Whether it's going to Calpurnia's church or the ladies over for a missionary circle. In Maycomb County it seems that religion is the main purpose for everything these people do, yet they might not do the right thing thinking they are.
While Calpurnia takes Scout and Jem to her colored church the don't care. Even the colored people don't care besides one lady believes she shouldn't have have brought them to their church, they don't belong. Colored people don't believe that while children shouldn't be in their church because the white peoples wouldn't like that very much. Calpurnia and everyone else didn't mind that they were there.
Although Scout and Jem didn't mind about going to the church and it shows because that some people whether it's praising in church they still don't like the opposite "color". Even with all of the people talking about how they don't mind they do because it's a very wrong thing to do to a human being. Religion shows that no matter the differences , there are still some similarities.
