Similarities

Like many of Maya Angelou’s poems, I used a specific phrase that I repeatedly used to show significance in it. For example, in Angelou’s poem, “Still I Rise”, she uses the phrase, “I rise” multiple times. For my own poem, I decided to use the phrase, “I will” repeatedly. She also likes to use analogies and metaphors, so I used them too to make the poem more interesting and stand out.
