2. Africa
A. The Scramble of Africa was the frantic colonization of Africa by European nations. With the end of slave trading, Africa was an especially profitable nation.
B. Every European nation wanted a piece of Africa for its own. With so much land and so many nations vying for land, borders and divisions were hard to decide.
C. The Berlin Conference met to set ground rules for the colonization of Africa. In the end the nations agreed to notify the others of their intents regarding land and colonizing.
