In 2009, reports say that South Sudan has the worst literacy rate in the world (adultery literacy) meaning people don't know how to write and read.

In 2011, when the peace deal was paved away for South Sudan, it was a hard to build an education system for millions of young people.

There wasn't enough schools to educate children and not enough teachers to teach as well.

2006 through 2010, the number of primary school students more than doubled, from 700,000 to 1.6 million.
