Rylee has been on the waiting list for a year after doctors considered her a good candidate for the lung transplant. They say that since her lungs are the only organs being affected right now, the lung transplant would give her years to live, rather than the months she would have without one. Also the new lungs that she would receive would not be affected by the CF gene (this is why her life span would drastically lengthen).
