International affairs during the post Cold War era were very complex. One issue faced around this time was the use of nuclear weapons; however, their existence is still a reality today. Although nuclear weapons were used for large scale attacks, their use has changed to smaller scale attacks initiated by rogue nations or groups against the United States and other countries.
