The Montagne Experience

In October of 1816, Marcellin went to fist a dying John Baptiste Montagne.

Marcellin was horrified when he found out that the boy knew nothing about the Catholic faith or Jesus. So as the boy laid there Marcellin talked to him and told him stories about the Catholic faith.

John soon died and this experienced influenced Marcellin and made him want to create the Marist Brothers.
