Facts

The musk turtle is found in southeastern Canada and much of the eastern United States.

They reproduce in February- June.

It takes 60-84 days for musk turtle eggs to hatch.

When they are stressed, musk turtles release a strong smelling, yellowish fluid from the glands under the rim of their shell possibly to keep predators away.
