Connections

A) Coming of Age: chapter 2 connects to the coming of age because even though Scout knows how poor Walter is, she simply accepts such differences as the way things are. She feels neither sympathy nor prejudice towards Walter Cunningham. Also this chapter connects to coming of age when Jem takes Scout to school on the first day of school, Jem makes a "contract" with his dad by getting money for taking Scout to school. Jem shows the coming of age by wanting money for what he had done, which is common characteristics for a matured person.
