Orphans Now

Orphans, in Victorian time, were seen as a threat to society. Today we are more sensitive to their situations and understand what they are going through. We no longer see orphans as a threat to society and we have sympathy for them. In Dickens day 60% of criminals were orphans. Now that there are orphanage homes for children to stay in, orphans can receive food and shelter without having to steal or commit crimes.
