Conclusion of Emily's Life

Emily's poetry was rarely recognized during her lifespan. She rarely left her house and letters was her way of reaching out to people. Emily wrote many letters to friends and loved ones and within those letters she wrote poems. Emily wrote approximately 1,700 poems in her lifespan. While she was alive, only seven of the 1,700 poems were published. Later, in Amherst on May 15, 1886, Emily Dickinson died. After Emily's death, Emily's sister and friend, Lavinia and Susan, worked together in editing and fixing Emily's poems. They joined together and published three volumes of Emily's verses from 1891 to 1896. A years continued on, more and more people who had poems from Emily, started to edit and publish them. Eventually, Emily Dickinsons writings became a huge influence on modern verses.
