Jimi Hendrix was born on November 27, 1948 in Seattle, Washington. Growing up, Hendrix always turned to music as a hobby. At 15, he learned how to play the guitar. He was completely self taught, and his inability to read music kept him motivated and ambitious to improve his music. After leaving the house, he performed in many small gigs and bands in Tennessee.
