The Viet Cong fight with Guerrilla style tactics. Among other things, this means that they use an abundance of booby traps. Tripwires camouflaged in the jungle trigger homemade explosives, or spike-covered logs spring out of nowhere. Patches of ground collapse underneath boots, leading to spike filled pits. Riverbanks and bottoms are covered in spikes, often coated with human waste and able to pierce through a man’s foot. It is nearly impossible to notice and avoid booby traps, and they prove to be deadly.
