The VC, our "invisible enemy", have created a series of underground tunnels. These tunnels allow the VC to stealthily sneak to our bases and other areas of the jungle to catch us by surprise, and attack more effectively.

Solution:

Our answer to this problem is simple. When there is no fighting, our units shall have a group of "seekers" who run out searching for these tunnels, who mark where they are, and report back to the unit. This allows our men to avoid said tunnels.
