A push factor is something that makes you want to leave. Either it's not safe for you anymore or you have no choice.

Definition

One example of a push factor would be natural disasters because it effects your environment. Not only is it unsafe for you, it also does a lot of damage to your community.

Another example of a push factor would be wars in the area because of the damage that the effects have on their homes.
