Spruce Needle

This is a spruce needle under a microscope. The clear part on the left is the upper epidermis. The light green on the left is the vascular bundle. The dark green on the right is the mesophyll. This contains the chloroplast which has chlorophyll in it, which as described in slide 1, gives it the color green.
