Grass

This is a microscopic picture of grass. One thing that becomes apparent when you look at this picture is that it is or has been photosynthesizing recently. This is obvious because the chlorophyll are still green. Chlorophyll absorbs all colors except green. It reflects green, and that is why we see green. In these two images, you can see (from top to bottom) the upper epidermis which is clear, the mesophyll layer which is green, the chlorophyll which is green, and finally the vascular bundle which is clear.
