VII Amendment

The Seventh Amendment is based on Civil trial rights. Civil cases typically involve money, property, or family matters such as divorce. In all but most minor cases, people involved in a civil case have a right to a jury trial. Additionally, after a jury decides the facts of a case, no judge can overrule the jury's decision. This Amendment was approved on December 15, 1791.
