Many people and groups tried to resist Nazism even in Germany. As a result they were put into concentration camps. In early 1943, an assassination was planned by German military officers and was set into motion in 1944. The officers planted a bomb but Hitler escaped with only minor injuries. June 1942, a group called "White Rose" was founded meaning purity and innocence in the face of evil. Siblings, Hans and Sophie Scholl, along with Christoph were not happy the many educated Germans went along with the Nazi policies. The three began to graffiti slogans like "Freedom" and "Down With Hitler" on university walls. February 1943, the three were executed four days after Sophie and Hans were caught distributing leaflets (printed paper sometimes folded) and arrested.
