The subject is a plant cell from a pear tree leaf. In the image, the longer and more oval cells that can be seen around the outside are palisade cells. The more circular cells in the middle that seem filled with green are mesophyll cells. Mesophyll cells are full of chloroplasts which reflect green light, hence their color. The empty cells around the picture are epidermal cells that layer the outside of the plant.
