The Mountain Region is the biggest region in California. It takes up about half of the whole state. It goes from the top to the bottom of California. The Mountain Region has two ranges. One is the Cascade Range. There are two volcanos in the Cascade Range. They are called Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen. The Sierra Nevada is the other mountain range. Inside the Sierra Nevada there is Lake Tahoe, Mt. Whitney, and Yosemite National Park. The climate in the mountain range is usually cold and windy because of the high altitude.
