Goodrem had the world at her feet, but then that fairytale was swept away and replaced by cancer. She was only 18 when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of blood disease. 10 months later she was 19, she was stronger than ever before, she had endured the shock of surgery and the discovery that she didn't have one tumour, but many.

"I have this idea that people look at me and think that, aside from from the short hair, I am the same person, the same Delta" she says. "It's though they are just waiting for my hair to grow back, and I will be the same again, as though nothing has happened. But you can't go through something like this and be the same at the end. It is simply not possible" This transformed Delta, she was still kind and caring, but more mature. She learned some harsh facts about life and it changed her. Changed her Forever.
