Family information..

George carver was born to a mother named Mary Carver. She and his elder brother were the only slaves owned by Moses and Susan Carver. Mary, his mother, disappeared and was presumed to have been kidnapped by slave raiders while George was An infant. He became both free and an orphan at the same time. George's father Giles Carver was a slave from down the way owned by a different family of carvers. He died shortly after George was born.
