- Aware of others and enjoys exploring objects with adults to establish relationships

Ex: playing peek-a-boo over and over again

- shows contagious distress when others are unhappy

Ex: at child care, when he/she sees another child crying they will start crying.

- makes overtures to familiar children

Ex: look for and smile at children in stores, offers toys or hugs to other children.
