Causes

Hurricanes begins as a tropical disturbance. It begins in warm water and has surface temperature of at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit. They are fed with energy from the warm sea. It becomes a tropical depression when it achieves speed of 38 mph. Once it becomes 39 mph, it is called a tropical storm and is given a name. Then when it reach 74 mph, it becomes a hurricane. It is categorized 1 to 5 under the Saffer-Simpson Scale.
