Start of Nazi Career

•In 1937, Keitel became a full general. He became head of the Supreme Command of the Armed Forces (OKW) in 1938.

•Keitel helped plan the invasion of Poland in September 1939.

•The success of the Polish invasion and the attacks on Western Europe resulted in Hitler promoting Keitel to field marshall in 1940.
