Outcome

After WWII, Keitel was accused of planning and waging a war of aggression, of war crimes, and of crimes against humanity.

Keitel was found guilty and sentenced to death. He requested a military execution by firing squad, but his request was denied.

Keitel was hanged at dawn on October 16th, 1946.

Keitel at the Nuremberg Trials

Keitel was arrested by the British and imprisoned awaiting trial at Nuremberg. On trial, He claimed that he was simply following orders as any good soldier would.
