•After WWII, Keitel was accused of planning and waging a war of aggression, of war crimes, and of crimes against humanity.

•Keitel was found guilty and sentenced to death. He requested a military execution by firing squad, but his request was denied.

•Keitel was hanged at dawn on October 16th, 1946.
