Factoring Polynomials

Summary: Take the polynomial equation and factor out common terms from the equation.


This is used to find factors of the polynomial equation which can eventually be used to find the solutions.

You can use a factoring method:

-trinomials

-four terms

-sum/difference of cubes

-GCF

-difference of squares


Using SOAP will help factor Differences of Cubes

1) Set =0

2) factor

3) set each factor equal to zero and solve for x
