From the exhibit I learned how the different styles and mood of classical Chinese women con be interpreted differently based on the values and goals of the creator of the medium.

Within the exhibit, the artist over emphasizes the figure of the models and stylizes the clothing. This Western interpretation of the clothing and the women in general shows a different viewpoint from the more reserved and plainer Chinese style I have previously encountered.

Even from images of classic Chinese woman in places like the walls of Chinese restaurants and from videos of the Chinese New Year are very different interpretations of the same general style.
