Dependent Variable: The dependent variable, or the variable that is measured, is the equilibrium of the meter stick because it is dependent upon the mass and radius of the hooks.

Independent Variable: The independent variable, or the variable that is changed, are the masses and radii of the hooks because the are being manipulated in order to reach equilibrium.

Controlled Variable: The controlled variable, what stays the same, is the meter stick, and radius of the second largest hook.
