Genotype to phenotype

• A genotype is an allele (which is one gene) from each parent.

• The genotype determines the phenotype.

• A phenotype is the physical trait that results from the genotype.

• The phenotype is determined by the combination of alleles, if the genotype is heterozygous or homozygous dominant the dominant trait will mask. If the genotype is homozygous recessive, the trait will be recessive.
