This Arachnid's common name is a cellar spider. The cellar spider is often found in damp locations such as basements, giving it its common name. The cellar spider has a small body and thin, long legs and is often confused with the daddy longlegs. Cellar spiders are tan or gray in body color. Cellar spiders have eight legs like all other spiders.

This cellar spider in particular was found by the window sill in my basement.

As stated earlier, cellar spiders are found all over the country in damp places such as basements.

This map shows that spiders can be found almost any where in the world, but cellar spiders are found only where it is damp.
