Hungarian Geographics
With 93,028 square kilometers, Hungary has less than 2% of mountains reaching above 300 meters. Major rivers include the Danube and the Tisza, with the less important Drava, Rába, Szamos, Sió and Ipoly. Three major lakes, Lake Balaton, with an area of 592 square kilometers, lake Velence, and lake Fertö. Some mountain ranges are the Alps, and the North Hungarian Mountains. A few regions are the Transdanubia, a hilly region, and the Great Hungarian Planes. 50% of the land is arable.
