Joining the seminary

In 1803 a visiting priest to Champagnat's hometown told him that he should be a priest. The priest was there to recruit and only 1 person was interested, Marcellin,14. He was accepted to a minor seminary at Verviers. There he studied under his brother in law, a former seminarian who felt he was not fit for the job. He deterred by this evaluation and was eventually accepted into the seminary at Lyons,France.
