The Montagne story is that he had called Marcellin on October 28,1816. He had to meet with Jean-Baptiste who was near death at the time of the meeting. He had realized that the young boy had little to none education in religion or academic. It occurred to him that Jean-Baptiste was one of many that had little to none education during the French Revolution.
