Amy winehous' mental illness, and substance abuse were the subject of a lot of media attention. It is believed by her family that the 2006 death of her grandma set off her addiction. Whinehouse canceled a number of shows due to ill health and during that time was hospitalised for, ecstasy, Herron, ketamine, cocoa and alcohol. In many interviews she also admitted having problems with, eating disorders, depression and self harm.
