The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree

Relationship With God

- God shows mercy for us (gave another year) and watches over us to see us grow.

- If we do not repent, God's patience will come to an end.

- God will help us bear fruit.

- We are fig trees, and if we remain barren by sinning, then we will be cut down.

- A man planted a fig tree

- For three years when he comes for fruit, he finds none.

- He told the gardener to cut it down because it is only exhausting the soil.

- The gardener said to leave it there for a year so he can help fertilize and raise it.

- The gardener said it would help the tree bear fruit in the future, and if not he can cut it down.
