Quote/Analysis 2

“‘What is it you want to know?’ Dede asks bluntly. And then because the question does seem to rudley call the women to account for herself, she adds, ‘Because there is so much to tell.’ The women laughs as she says, ‘Tell me all of it.’” (Alvarez pg. 7)

-The women questioning Dede wants to know about her life with her sisters, and Dede is preparing to tell her story to this woman

-She is almost hesitant to tell the woman because she is always asked to tell the story

-The whole book is Dede telling the story of her sisters’ death to the women

-She goes into detail with each of the sisters, actually telling “all” of the story
