He created his own unique version of the live action short Frankinweenie. Paul Reubens commissioned Burton to direct the wildly inventive comedy Pee-Wee's Big Adventure in 1985. In 1988 he created Beetlejuice. In 1990 Burton created the bizarre but touching film Edward Sissorhands. In 1992 Batman Returns was created. In 1993 he made The Nightmare Before Christmas using stop-motion animation musical. Tim directed a film called The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was created in 2005. He made The Corpse Bride in 2005 and it was nominated for an Oscar. Burton directed the film Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in 2007. In 2010 Burton casted Johnny Depp and Helen Bonham Carter in his adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.
