Beavers are chocolate brown, short and fat. They have bad eyesight but great sense of smell and taste. A sure sign is their broad scaly tail and webbed hind feet. They have chiseled pattern teeth with the front four that have a hard orange enamal. Beavers can weigh up to 40lbs and interestingly the females may be bigger than males.

Their family groups consist of one adult pair and 1-2 generations of young. One litter of young may consist of three to four babies.

Beavers average maximum age is 24-25 year old.
