Well if the previous slides and videos haven't convinced you that frogs & toads are an amazing group of animals then let me explain my fascination that borderlines on obsession........or better yet let the BBC explain it.....

So why does Dr. Criswell love frogs so much??

Believe it or not I was actually behind the scenes while this BBC video was filming. The BBC (Discovery Channel in the USA) called me because they wanted to highlight the golden frogs in the video series "Life in Cold Blood." I am one of the only experts on this frog's behavior. In fact I am the scientists that discovered what that waving motion actually meant (human equivalent- flipping someone off). So basically the golden frog helped me earn a PhD & for that reason alone all frogs rock!! Unfortunately this species is extinct is the wild and can only be found in zoos. I am currently working with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute to help reintroduce this species back into the Panama rain forest.
